What do I need to publish on our school website(s) ready for 2026?
Here's a quick checklist for anyone updating their school websites ready for January 2026.
1. Pupil Premium strategy statements for 2025/26
They must be published by 31 December 2025 - so get them uploaded this month.
What catches people out?
Being in a middle of a previously-published 3-year strategy isn’t enough.
As the DfE says, “3-year plans are recommended – [but] you must still publish an updated statement for each academic year.”
2. Key Stage 2 performance data for 2025
The DfE published KS2 data on Compare School Performance on Thursday 11 December 2025. This means schools should now do the same.
What catches people out?
It isn’t enough to just link to the DfE page for the school - although that is also required.
What else do I need to add?
The DfE says you should also publish 4 specific measures directly on the school websites:
- Percentage of pupils who achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths (combined)
- Percentage of pupils who achieved a higher standard in reading, writing and maths (combined)
- Average scaled score in reading
- Average scaled score in maths
And...
- KS2 Progress measures still aren't required, because of Covid disruption
- Key Stage 4 and 5 results for 2025 should already be on websites, as they were published by the DfE back in October
